ABOUT STRESS

Stress can manifest itself through physical, behavioral, mental and emotional signs. If you have been experiencing stress for long periods of time, it can lead to chronic symptoms that show up through forgetfulness, anxiety, anger, poor concentration and depression. Behavioral changes can include disorganization, withdrawing from personal relationships or usual activities or neglect of personal appearance. Physical signs of stress include muscle tension, stomach problems, change in sleep patterns and fatigue.

ANTIDOTE

The techniques used during a massage focused on relieving stress and returning the body to homeostasis after periods of stress include: Neuromuscular techniques, connective tissue and movement techniques. These techniques when applied by an experienced massage therapist have been shown to porduce a relaxing and sometimes sedative effect.
